Vespa VX 125 Review

From Italy. It's the third time that Piaggio has branded Vespa in India. All last couple of times the world's largest scooter brand had to quit Indian soil due to the failure in meeting up the expected customers. Although the firm is still to reach the expected numbers in the second comeback, the firm is in full throttle as the only premium scooter brand of the country. And the Vespa VX 125 is the top-end scooter that the company offers now.

Vespa VX

Looks
The most gorgeous scooter in the Indian two-wheeler industry. Nothing can come even closer to its beauty. Coupled with traditional European and Italian embodiment, the Vespa VX 125 is a unique stuff in its class. It doesn't wonder if anyone opt the machine over a motorcycle for its design. It is there, the outlook. The round headlight, chrome finished plates on the body, tail lamp that is purely from generations, and high quality materials tempt anyone to own this.

Engine and Performance
It's the same 125cc, 4 Stroke, 3 Valve, Single Cylinder, Air Cooled engine, that powers the LX 125, is used in the VX 125. So, it's all proven. Nothing to worry anymore.

Vespa VX 125

The heart is capable enough to clock a peak power of 10.06 PS @ 7500 RPM and a peak torque of 10.6 Nm @ 6000 RPM, which are obviously class leading power figures. It's mated with an automatic transmission.

Features
There is nothing much to write about its features. Still, Vespa has added few stuffs in order to attract more customers to the outlets. A 200mm front disc, a reworked instrumentation cluster, beige seat option, and an attractive grab rail are them. Unfortunately along with the added features, the company has raised the price proportionally.

Ergonomics and Riding Comfy
Even if the machine has great looks and stunning features, and if it offers bad riding experience, what's the necessity in choosing it. The all new Vespa VX 125 is something like that. It doesn't offer a better seating position. It's something smaller and congested. And the machine is smaller considering the other ones in the class. This dissatisfies anyone and is hardly driven by taller guys. It would have been better if the form had given a bigger structure to the scooter and a lavish seat space.

Vespa VX 125

Mileage
Vespa offers 60 kmpl under standard conditions, which is almost impossible in today's traffic conditions. However, a mileage figure of 50 kmpl is possible. So the machine is economical and you may never worry for that.

Vespa VX 125

Pricing
Here the firm goes the worst. They have priced the VX 125 quiet unreasonably. Of course, it's overpriced as it is priced Rs. 72,000, which is only ex-showroom tag. That means you need to pay around Rs. 80,000 to get the machine on road. Do you think that the scooter is worth buying at this price?

Vespa VX 125

Definitely, Never! You can opt a better motorcycle which offers more mileage, and comfort. The only thing you loose is the scooter feel. So think twice before buying the Vespa VX 125.

Vespa VX 125

Verdict
Price tag and the riding position are the only two cons which I could find from the Vespa VX 125. Expect them, the scooter looks stunning, has great reliability, is economical, is powerful enough, and has brand value.
