India, being one of the biggest markets for two wheelers, Mahindra has high hopes for its array of the scooter lineup. First launched back in 2009, the Rodeo came with simple features and design and Mahindra in 2012 relaunched it as Rodeo RZ with some minor upgrades, but somehow it doesn't catch the customers attention and also got discounted and then again in 2014, the company relaunched the new upgraded Rodeo UZO 125.
Design
The new Rodeo UZO 125 showcase an upgraded version of the past two Rodeo variants and it is the major changes that underwent in the new upgrade.
Cosmetic changes can be seen on the front panels, mirrors, sculpted body design. The designs are carefully crafted to meet the demands of the customers. A racing inspired graphics and minimalist styling follows up the new age style and modern outlook Mahindra wants to showcase with its scooter line up.
Six Coloured Digital Dashboard
An all new digital dashboard on the new Rodeo UZO 125 poses a stylish design element combined with unique features.
The all-digital dashboard comes with a clear bright screen that can switch between 6 colours. It displays various information like speed, distance, rpm, time and fuel status. It also has an acceleration timer to record lap times.
Easy Front Fuelling
The new Rodeo UZO 125 still retains the front fueling system. The fuel tank is easy-to-operate so users can directly refuel the scooter with out getting off the seat. This is a revolutionary feature showcase by Mahindra in the scooter industry in India.
Mobile Charging Point
Now, mobile charging points have become a must have featured in commuters. Since scooters are used by many as smartphones are used in India, a USB mobile charger is a must have feature. The UZO 125 has an advanced mobile charger so users can always stay connected while on-the-go.
Illuminated Under Seat Storage
Now, scooters have become a portable luggage carrier and an inexpensive alternative to transport groceries, household essentials and other small home items from market to home.
The under-seat storage of the new Rodeo UZO 125 comes with a capacity of 22 litres. It even has an auto-illuminated feature for better visibility at night, so the user can operate it even at low light with many conveniences. The under seat storage is big enough to fill a full-sized helmet and other essentials safely.
4-in-1 Anti-Theft Key
When it comes to safety, Mahindra is always on the bright side. This can be seen in the 4-in-1 Anti-Theft Key provided in this new Rodeo.
This special key locks the handle bar, fuel tank and also engages a magnetic shutter that blocks access to the key-hole, preventing theft and most importantly just one turn of this key can conveniently central locks the entire scooter and provides peace of mind to the user.
Higher Ground Clearance
The new Rodeo UZO 125 sits high above the ground. This keeps you high above rocks and obstacles as you ride over uneven terrain.
Side-Stand Safety Buzzer
The new Rodeo UZO 125 has been designed with safety as a high priority. Mahindra has provided a safety buzzer which turns on when the scooter is turned on with the side stand in on condition.
Engine
The Mahindra Rodeo UZO 125 comes with a 124.6cc, 4-stroke air cooled engine. It produces a maximum power output of 8 Bhp at 7000 rpm and 9 Nm torque at 5500 rpm. When compared with the Gusto 125, the UZO seemingly lacks power and it is also the same when compared to the rivals of its class.
Yet the new engine is powerful enough for commuting and leaving behind traffic. The engine has Advanced DCDI Technology and ATLA System. It has Throttle position Sensor (TPS) which ensures a lightning-fast response. Mahindra has made the engine more reliable than its predecessors and also comes with better fuel efficiency.
Braking and Suspension
A 130mm dia drum brakes are equipped in the rear and front of this scooter and have the capability to perform well in off-road rallies. The addition of 90/100-10-inch wheels at both sides gives stability at rides in cities and highways.
The new Rodeo UZO 125 is provided with an advanced telescopic front suspension that keeps steady and comfortable at variable speeds and uneven terrains. The Hydraulic rear suspension absorbs bumps and dips of bad roads and provides better riding comfort. The new suspension set up provides a better riding experience compared to the previous models of Rodeo.
Colours
The Rodeo UZO 125 comes in two versions, UZO 125 Std and the UZO 125, the UZO 125 Std contains two shades; Velocity White and Racetrack Black, while the latter contains four colours; Velocity White, Racetrack Black, Victory Violet and Bolt Black.
