Mahindra Duro DZ Review

Mahindra is looking for a big deal in the Indian two-wheeler industry. They have done great deals in the automobile industry. Still, the firm can't be even the shade of it in the bi-wheeler world. The recently launched Centuro is something that stands firm in the Mahindra Two Wheeler company. Well coming to the scooter world of Mahindra, the Duro DZ is the flagship machine. Although, it's not doing greater business in the class, it's doing the best for Mahindra.

Mahindra Duro DZ

Looks
The Duro DZ looks alright. Still, it doesn't seem world class or up to the mark to challenge the major players in the class. Mahindra designers could have done a better job here. At the first sight, you may not like the machine. It will be only after few looks, you will start liking the scooter. The headlight and side panels look above average. But, the tail lamp portion is worse. It would have been betterly moulded out. Well, for an average man, the Duro DZ is good. But, for freaks, this is never an option.

Engine, and Performance
The Duro DZ is powered by a 124.6cc, 4 Stroke heart, which is capable to deliver a peak power of 6.0 kW @7000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.0 Nm @ 5500 rpm. This reveals how powerful the scooter is. Definitely, the Duro DZ performs better than some key players such as Activa, Maestro, Dio, Pleasure, and Wego. And you can get clocked 80 kmph easily. I think that it's even possible to clock a top speed of 90 kmph with a rigid determination.

Features
If we drill down, we can see something very interesting features which may even guide you to buy the Duro DZ. They are advanced telescopic suspension, larger 6.5 liter fuel tank, 1270mm wheelbase, 155mm ground clearance, halogen headlamp, rear brake lock lever, 4 point mounted rim, 20liter under seat storage, and additional front storage. Even though these are not dashing enough, still, these are cool enough. Isn't it?

Ergonomics and Riding Comfy
Having a bigger and longer seat, longer wheel base, higher ground clearance, taller handlebar, and advanced suspension, you can just make things to the ease. This is simply great. And it has powerful 125 engine as well. All these stuffs will provide you a better ride than many in the class.

Mahindra Duro DZ

Mileage
56,25 is what the firm offers under standard conditions. However, we all know that the number is hardly possible as far as the city traffic conditions are concerned. According to user reviews the Duro DZ gives back between 40 45 kmpl mileage, which is a good number for a gearless scooter.

Mahindra Duro DZ

Price
Mahindra has priced the Duro DZ at Rs. 45,288 (ex-showroom), which makes it a good deal to buy. Because, you have advanced telescopic suspension, 125cc powerful engine, a larger 6.5 liter fuel tank, 1270mm wheelbase, 155mm ground clearance, halogen headlamp, rear brake lock lever, 4 point mounted rim, 20liter under seat storage, and additional front storage at this price tag.

Mahindra Duro DZ

Verdict
The Duro DZ is an excellent machine for scootering in cities and even long drive is possible with the least stress in the class. It has a powerful heart and good number of features. The major things affects the sales of the Duro DZ are its mixed-reviewed design and less brand value. Except them the scooter is cool to carry on.

This scooter looks similar to Kinetic Marvel. Maybe Mahindra used the same design as they bought Kinetic.
